Some words or phrases in English sound the same but have completely different meaning and spelling. It takes time to memorize them and one way of doing that is through repeated typing.

This spelling quiz includes some of the most common errors in English made by beginner ESL learners.

Every word has a quiz of its own followed by a quiz combining a pair of confusing words together. As an example, there are separate quizzes for words [where], [were], and [wear] and then grouping quiz for these three words together.

All sentences are as simple as I could possibly make.
Occasionally I use equal sign (=) to simplify definition of the word.

Directions and Rules
  • 1. Select words and press [Start] button.
  • 2. Memorize sentence from a yellow box.
  • 3. Type this sentence in a textbox below.
  • 4. Press [Next button] and start from step 2.
  •      Spell sentence correctly and you get 1 point.
  •      Spell sentence incorrectly and you lose 1 point.
  •      You are done when Your Score = Target Score
